My heart is so grateful to those of you who have been asking me to start offering Unearthing Your Story again. At first I kept arguing with myself, telling myself I would be taking on too much if I started teaching this course again. I’ve been so focused on writing my book and the beginning journey towards publication for my first book that I felt I couldn’t possibly find the time. But you know what? Something important was missing from my life. I missed sharing the journey towards discovering and weaving story threads with magical ladies. I missed the community and the “aha” moments when puzzle pieces come together in a mysterious way.
After hearing so much positive feedback about my course, and some wonderful suggestions for ways to improve it, I have decided to offer it once more.
I had originally intended for this course to be completed in six weeks. This is way too rushed. I now have it set to be completed over six months, one module per month. This time frame is still flexible and you are still able to keep all of the course materials so that you can revisit the course whenever you wish.
I have also set up an Instagram page for Unearthing Your Story at @sealskinjacket www.instagram.com/sealskinjacket/
This space is for those of you who have already completed my course and wish to interact with other sisters on a similar journey, it is for those of you who may just be starting your personal mythology journey, and it is for those who are curious and wish to just dip your toes in the water before making a full commitment.
I also decided to open up membership to the Enchanted Sisterhood Club. This is a yearly membership to Unearthing Your Story at a much reduced rate. You will still receive most of the course materials, have the option to build community with other members (share stories, images, etc.), but you just won’t receive the personal mentorship and personalized elements (such as oracle card readings).
Information about both Unearthing Your Story course and Enchanted Sisterhood Club can be found here. www.caitlingemmell.com/unearthingyourstory.html
And if you feel hesitant to join either, you can still sign up for my magical newsletter to receive a sprinkling of the course offerings, updates about my book, tips for living a life of enchantment, and more.
Thank you my lovely sisters for encouraging me to start up this endeavor once more. I’m so grateful for you.
As always I welcome a friendly email from any one of you reading this now. I’m here to build community and share my magic with the world. Do you have anything you wish to share with me? Use the contact me form on this website or email me at caitgemmell at gmail dot com.
Some of you reading this now may be unfamiliar with Unearthing Your Story. Just what is Unearthing Your Story and why am I qualified to teach this?
What is Unearthing Your Story?
In answer to the first question: Unearthing Your Story is a course that I began to develop as a graduate student. My graduate work had much to do with Ecofeminism, revivifying the Goddess, sense of place, and personal mythology. I facilitated a series of workshops in my local community, guiding women in circle (and holding space for them) as we began discovering our personal stories and the importance of group ritual. Unearthing Your Story grew out of this graduate work.
I began to realize the importance of recognizing personal symbols and archetypes. These are clues as to our purpose in life. I discovered that these clues have been present always, and we can revisit our childhood and each successive phase of life in order to begin piecing together these puzzle pieces and making sense of them. Most of these clues show up in stories and images.
I also discovered how vital it is to integrate our internal and external landscapes. We MUST spend time in nature, developing a relationship with a particular place, building a sense of place.
Unearthing Your Story is more than just an online course. I have made some lasting friendships with women I have yet to meet in person, all because we bonded over sharing our story threads. It is a way of building community. It is a way of enriching your inner world of dreams and active imagination. It’s a way of being physically present in the external world. It is a way of embracing your Inner Goddess and living as an autonomous, empowered being. It is a way of shifting your perspective to see the world as seeped in MAGIC.
I have been immersed in this spiritual journey since I was 12. I have over ten years experience as priestess and guide for women (and men). I am a writer and a teacher. Both my undergraduate and graduate work have prepared me to serve and mentor women. I have been a witchy wild woman for 22 years.

This was a fast-paced and gripping thriller with characters who seemed flat at first but were well-developed by the end of the novel.
Our House tells the story of a terrible scam that occurred for the main character, Fi. She and her husband, Bram, separated but agree to take turns living in their home with their two boys. When Fi returns home one day, after a weekend away, she finds her house is inhabited by a couple who claim to be the new owners.
The story unfolds through Fi telling her story on a podcast, Bram sharing his side through a Word document, and occasional third person observations.
This was one of those books with morally ambiguous characters, which I love. The story was plausible enough to be absolutely terrifying.
Thank you to Net Galley for the e-book galley to review, and Berkley for the ARC. This book release today.
This book is one of those rare books that have a way of remaining permanently etched in one’s heart. Circe is an expertly woven retelling of The Odyssey from the perspective of the exiled Witch-Goddess, Circe.
Madeline Miller is a master storyteller. Although this book was beautiful to read in the quiet moments when I was alone and able to travel between the pages (a journey so exquisite I could barely breathe), I could easily see it told around a fire by one of the few Storytellers existing today.
Circe has become one of my favorite characters of all time. I aspire to be just like this incredible witch. In a time where women everywhere are reclaiming the word “witch,” transforming it into a word of female power, this powerful and feminist book is a must read.
